Are you staying in Reims for the Congress?
Will you remain in Reims afterwards?
Here is a non-exhaustive list of the best activities to do in Reims :
1. Visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Reims :
No visit to Reims is complete without seeing the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Its beauty is universally praised. And for good reason, it is an architectural gem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Larger than Notre-Dame de Paris, it also features exceptional statuary: 2,303 sculpted figures adorn its façades. Biblical scenes, a gallery of kings, a bestiary, gargoyles—so many stories to discover during a self-guided or guided tour!

2. Tour the cellars of the great Champagne houses :
How can one talk about Reims without mentioning the most prestigious wine in the world: champagne? A symbol of celebration, success, and sharing, champagne is omnipresent in Reims.
The Champagne Hillsides, Houses, and Cellars have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2015.
In Reims, this includes the houses located on Saint-Nicaise Hill: Pommery, Veuve Clicquot, Taittinger, Ruinart, G.H. Martel. Their cellars are uniquely made of "crayères," impressive chalk galleries that, for some, date back to the Middle Ages.
Other houses, each with its own style and visitor experience, are open to the public in Reims, the vineyards, or in Épernay on its famous Avenue de Champagne.

3. Take an excursion to the Champagne vineyards :
Vineyards are everywhere around Reims. Just a few kilometers from the city, you’ll find yourself in the heart of the vineyards.
Several options are available to explore:
Book a small-group tour with one of the operators offering vineyard circuits.
Take the "Bubble Line" train, which connects Reims to Épernay and stops in several vineyard locations—perfect for hiking in the heart of the Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park.
By car or road bike for the more adventurous, discover other areas, particularly Verzenay, to admire the view from an unusual spot: the Verzenay Lighthouse.
Exploring the vineyards also offers the opportunity to meet winemakers, who welcome you to their estates for tastings, cellar tours, and direct sales, often at much better prices than in traditional stores.
4. Visit another UNESCO gem, the former Saint-Remi Abbey :
The former Saint-Remi Abbey, also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, consists of two visitor sites: the basilica and the historical museum. Both are worth a visit, located about a 20-minute walk from the cathedral. Several bus lines can also get you there in under 5 minutes.
The basilica is stunning. Its interior, blending Gothic and Romanesque styles, is imbued with spirituality.
The museum, with its rich collections displayed in various rooms of the Benedictine abbey, traces human history from Prehistory to the Renaissance.

5. Taste the local flavors :
Gastronomy is an integral part of Reims' identity. From the Boulingrin Halles, home to the city’s largest market, to the cobbled streets of the city center, great places abound.
Chocolatiers, restaurateurs, butchers, cheesemongers… Many artisans contribute to Reims' proud representation of French gastronomy.
The emblem of local gastronomy: the pink biscuit of Reims.
With its pink color and white icing, the pink biscuit of Reims is instantly recognizable. It has been a source of pride for Rémois for centuries and can be enjoyed without moderation, either paired with a glass of Champagne or incorporated into desserts like charlottes or verrines.
The Fossier House is now the main representative of this biscuit tradition. Its distinctive pink hue was originally intended to mask the black vanilla particles that flavor it.
